My Story

Heather at the first dinner.

In 2022 I moved to Portland from Los Angeles and quickly built something I hadn't expected to find so fast: a tight-knit community where conversations go deeper than traffic, careers, and pop culture. In today's fast-paced world that keeps us glued to screens, it's fairly easy to feel lost in the crowd, belonging nowhere. I found that most people were quietly searching for the same thing. They want deeper, more vulnerable conversations with the people in their lives, but don't know where to start.

Alongside building community, hosting parties and cooking for others lights my fire. I love watching strangers laugh together, seeing connections spark between people who might never have crossed paths otherwise. When we break bread with one another, our defenses soften. Even if just for a moment, the walls come down.

Soul Rooted Table grew out of a question my partner kept asking me: "What are you passionate about?" For awhile I felt lost. My career had become monotonous, my side gigs where more work than their worth, and somewhere along the way I had lost my ability to dream. One night the idea struck me that I wanted to create an environment where strangers became friends and friends became family. I realized I could weave together my love of deep friendships and my joy of cooking and hosting into something intentional: dinner parties where guests share heartfelt stories over a truly delicious meal.

Hi I'm Heather. I get really excited about hosting monthly dinners where souls come together to share nourishing food, meaningful conversation, and grow friendships.
